Samoan Language Week at Rosebank School- 27- 31 May, 2013

On Friday, 31 may Tupulaga Team has organised some activities for all the classrooms. Our class went to room 29 and we did panting. Later we went to the hall and learnt to weave with flax, some parent helpers helped us. We also glued some colored feathers on the mats. We all had a great time. Thank you Tupulaga Team for organizing Samoan Language Week.

We had so much fun!

AFL Session 1
On Tuesday 28th of May Room 14 went to an AFL session to learn some skills from the coaches.
                                 Warming Up!
They introduced us to a warm up game called flush the toilet. It’s like Stuck in the mud but a little different. There are three taggers which have to tag you, when they tag you, you must bend your knees and pretend you’re a toilet. The people who are still not tagged must flush you and make a toilet flush sound. This game was very intense that everyone was tired.
                             The Drop Punt Kick
The first skill they had to teach us was the Drop Punt Kick; all you had to do was drop the ball on your foot and aim for your partner. The three easy rules were,
1. Laces away from faces.
2. The two crosses must point up and down.
3. Straight arms like an arrow
You must have your two hands straight on the stems. It was very hard at first but we got used to it. We were Practicing and practicing until we got perfect.
                                 Bomb the Teacher
Firstly, there were two teachers (the coaches) we had to drop punt the ball and it had to hit the teacher. Getting the ball to hit the teacher seemed easy but it wasn’t. Some students hit the teachers some didn’t.
We had lots of fun can’t wait for some more sessions to learn more skills.
